Bethany Centrone, Board Member




A native of Central and Western New York, Bethany Centrone grew up in the small, Erie Canal village of Clyde, N.Y. After graduating from the Clyde-Savannah Central School District, Bethany attended the University of Rochester, where she majored in Environmental Studies and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. Bethany graduated from Cornell Law School in 2001.

After graduating law school, Bethany worked as an associate with Harter, Secrest & Emery, LLP, specializing in the areas of employment, municipal and school law. In 2010, Bethany accepted a position as in-house counsel with the Rochester City School District and, in January of 2011, became the District's Chief of Human Capital Initiatives with responsibility for the District's human resources, employment benefits, labor relations and professional development functions.

Bethany is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys and Literacy Volunteers of Rochester. She has served the Brockport community as a member of the Brockport Symphony Association, Max's Mardi Gras Parade Committee, Pro-Brockport and the Greater Brockport Development Corporation. Bethany rejoined the GBDC Board of Directors in June 2013.

Bethany lives in Clarkson with her husband John, who is music chair for the annual Brockport Arts Festival.
