Dan Donovan, GBDC Vice President

Dan, who has lived in Brockport for the past seven years, spent 31 years working for Rochester Gas & Electric at the utility's Russell Station Power Plant. He retired in 2008 when the Russell Station plant was closed.

Dan worked in both the operations and maintenance divisions and has an extensive background in electric utilities and power plant operations. He is experienced in maintenance and repair of boilers, turbines and auxiliary equipment and is particularly proud of his record of maintaining regulatory and safety standards. That includes having planned and implemented alterations to ensure safety, improve operator ergonomics and increase electric generation productivity. Dan was also Lead Technician of the boiler efficiency system (soot blowers, air heaters, injectors) and was responsible for the operation of SO2 and NOX controls to EPA standards.

Dan is married to Missy and has a daughter, Christine, a step-daughter, Emily, and seven grandchildren. He believes Brockport is a great place to call home. "Brockport is a great place to live. It has a lot of character, a good school system, The College at Brockport, and a potential for growth they will allow it to blossom into the Victorian Village of the future."

Dan was first elected to the GBDC Board of Directors in 2012 and currently sits on the organization's Audit and Finance committees. You can contact Dan at ddonovan@growbrockport.org.
