Jacqueline Davis, GBDC Secretary




Jacqueline Davis is Professor Emerita of Dance at The College at Brockport where, during a 43-year career, she taught and also held administrative positions.

In 2005, Ms. Davis was awarded the National Dance Education Organization’s (NDEO) Vision Award in recognition of innovative contributions to dance education.

Jacquie is a charter member of the New York State DanceForce, a statewide consortium of invited dance presenters, artists and advocates, and currently serves on its Executive Committee. Through the DanceForce and other organizations, she has been responsible for numerous community focused dance residencies.

She is also a longstanding board member of Rochester's Project U.N.I.Q.U.E, supporting arts in education programming, and is Treasurer of the New York State Dance Education Association (NYSDEA). She was honored in March 2013 with NYSDEA's first Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jacquie joined the GBDC Board of Directors in September 2012 and was elected its Secretary in May 2013. She's also a member of the GBDC's Audit and Nominating committees. Her interest is in the power of the arts to support community development.
